Sacramental Ministries

Each of us has many opportunities to bring Christ's hope and joy to people in our families, in our neighborhoods, in our world, and in our parish. The joy, peace and love of Christ is found in the Sacraments of the Church. A sacrament is an effective sign given to us by Jesus through which we share in God's life. The cards below detail how we at St. Raphael celebrate and honor the sacraments. Every parishioner is invited to participate to the best of their ability in any of the Sacramental ministries. The Baptism Ministry at St. Raphael's offers many opportunities for parishioners to assist families in preparing parents and godparents in the first Sacrament of Initiation for children. Those interested in serving in the Baptism Ministry, please call the rectory 516-785-0236

Parishioners are invited pray before the Blessed Sacrament each Tuesday between 1 and 7 pm in the church. Prayer ends at 7 pm with Adoration and Benediction.

Parishioners who commit to daily prayer at home for specific seasonal intentions of the parish and for specific individual intentions.

Parishioners who prepare lap-size blankets, made with love and prayers, for those who are ill or who are going through difficult times. People are needed to shop, cut, sew, wash. Monetary donations for material are gratefully received. Blankets are blessed and distributed monthly at a Sunday Mass

Times of prayer, retreats, book discussions, workshops offered periodically throughout the year.
