Each of us has many opportunities to bring Christ's hope to others in our families, in our neighborhoods, in our world, and in our parish. St. Raphael's has prepared a booklet summarizing the ministries offered by the parish.

Mass parts are from the 'Mass of Renewal' by Curtis Stephan

St. Raphael's Adult Choir is open to all parishioners 18 and older. We rehearse Thursday evenings from 7-9pm, and sing at the 10am mass on the 2nd and 4th Sundays of the month from September-June. Prior singing experience/reading music is a plus but not necessary. If interested, please contact John Snyder via the rectory.

St. Raphael's Children's Choir is open to all parish children from grades 3-8. We rehearse Thursday evenings from 6-7pm, and sing at the 10am mass on the 1st and 3rd Sundays of the months from September-June. This is a wonderful opportunity to give kids a head start learning music, teamwork, confidence, and much more. If interested, contact John Snyder via the rectory.

The Sunday 5pm mass has a special focus on teens and young adults, though parishioners of all ages attend.

Teens and young adults are encouraged to take a leadership role in ministry at this mass. They can serve as ushers, lectors, altar servers, Eucharistic ministers, singers and instrumentalists. The 5pm Sunday mass choir consists of high school-aged parishioners (grades 9-12), and rehearses weekly before mass. If interested, please contact John Snyder via the rectory.

As part of the Sunday 5pm mass' focus on teens and young adults, we welcome high school instrumentalists to contribute to the liturgy. This is a great opportunity for young musicians to experience playing outside of school in a small ensemble on a regular basis.

Instrumentalists should be at a NYSMAA Level 5 or its equivalent. This is because some of the music is in keys and time signatures not usually played by high school musicians. Anyone interested in playing must first schedule an audition with John Snyder via the rectory.

St. Raphael's is blessed with parishioners who volunteer their time and talents to lead the congregation in song at weekend masses and other services.

If you have questions about the cantors, or are interested in becoming a cantor yourself, please contact John Snyder via the rectory.

Brides and grooms should contact John Snyder via the rectory to discuss music for their wedding. Generally speaking, 2-4 weeks is plenty of time, although it is advised to reach out earlier if you have any special requests (extra musicians, obscure pieces, etc.)
