Catholic Ministries Appeal

The Catholic Ministries Appeal helps lay paths of evangelization through the formation of our priests, deacons and lay leaders. It assists in training our religious education catechists and adult faith formation leaders who educate our youth and parish families, and programs that promote the sanctity of life at all stages. Working together, we are all enriching the lives of all Long Island.

Here are some the programs that are made possible through support of the Catholic Ministries Appeal:

The Office of Vocations provide Formation of our Priests and Deacons; Holy Hours for Vocations are being celebrated throughout the year. Young people of the diocese, and those who desire to draw near to Our Lord in the Eucharist come together to pray, give praise and honor in Adoration.

Catholic Charities provides food programs for seniors, low-income families and maternity services for women and their children; affordable and safe housing for seniors, veterans and adults with mental and physical disabilities; and substance abuse services include residential and day treatment programs.

The Office of Evangelization and Catechesis programs include Faith formation of our lay leaders, Hispanic Ministry, Multicultural Diversity, Young Adult and Youth Ministry – Quo Vadis ran another successful summer camp that fosters vocations and evangelization in our youth.

The Office of Human Life, Family and Bioethics provides prayer, education, witness and support of Respect Life Initiatives with the weekly rosary and resources for pregnant and postpartum parents.
