On this page you'll find information about Music Ministry at St.
Raphael's and how you can be part of it.
Mass Setting Selected for New Roman Missal
St.
Raphael's has selected a Mass setting for the implementation of the
new Roman Missal. The Mass setting is called the "Mass of
Renewal" and the composer is Curtis Stephan. The setting is in the 2012 issue of Breaking Bread.
Here is a link so you can become familiar with
the new setting:

Choirs
St. Raphael's has both a Children's Choir and an Adult Choir.
New members are always welcome.
The choirs sing at the 10:00 a.m. Mass on
Sundays, alternating weeks.
Rehearsals are on Monday nights in the Music Room (Room 6 of the
School). The Children's Choir rehearses from 6:00-7:00 p.m.
and the Adult Choir rehearses from 7:30-9:00 p.m.
If you have questions about the choirs, please call the Rectory
and leave a message for Beth and Steve Souza. You also can
send them an e-mail message at:
music@straphaelparish.org
Lists of Songs
Attached below are the song lists for upcoming liturgies:
Cantors
St. Raphael's is blessed with parishioners who volunteer to
cantor at Sunday Mass and other services.
If you have questions about the cantors, please call the Rectory
and leave a message for Lauretta Kowalik.
Sunday 5:00 p.m. Mass
The Sunday 5:00 p.m. Mass has a special focus on teens and young
adults, though parishioners of all ages attend.
Teens and young adults are encouraged to take a leadership role
in ministry at this Mass. They can serve as ushers, lectors,
altar servers, Eucharistic ministers, singers, and instrumentalists.
Anyone interested in volunteering should call the Rectory and leave
a message for Joann Heaney-Hunter.
Instrumentalists should be at a NYSMAA Level 5 or its equivalent.
This is because some of the music is in keys and time signatures not
usually played by high school musicians. Anyone interested in
playing must first schedule an audition with Steve Souza by leaving
a message in the Rectory. You also can send him an e-mail
message at:
music@straphaelparish.org
Weddings
Brides and grooms should contact Lauretta Kowalik as early as
possible to discuss music for the wedding.
